Abstract

Elder abuse is a common phenomenon both in the inpatient and home settings. Nevertheless, there are only a few contact points for those affected so far. Therefore, the family doctor plays a decisive role in the detection of violence in old age.

Gewalt gegen ältere Menschen ist sowohl im stationären als auch im häuslichen Umfeld ein häufiges Phänomen. Dennoch gibt es bisher nur wenige Anlaufstellen für Betroffene. Dem Hausarzt kommt daher bei der Erkennung von Gewalt im Alter eine entscheidende Rolle zu.
