Abstract

Crime characteristics are the most important to predict crime status. Rapes where offenders targeted victims with vulnerable lifestyle would be more likely to remain unsolved. Victim selection and place of crime characteristics are important to predict the case status. The more interactions between the offender and the victim during the crime, the better the chances of the rape to be solved. Forensic awareness strategies are not always efficient and can be counterproductive for rapists.
