Abstract

Modern physics advances outlined contours of quantum energetics including quantum engines. Prospects of using quantum engines in vehicles are considered at the conceptual level. Quantum engines do not need any external energy sources. Quantum engines producing an impulse of thrust transferred directly to the frame of a vehicle make the power wheel drive unnecessary as all wheels are driven. A vertical component of thrust can ensure suspension of a vehicle (to improve its off-road performance) or its pressing-down (to improve its stability). Quantum engines have a higher level of acceleration and braking dynamics. They also have a clad floor which, in the absence of a transmission, improves off-road performance of a vehicle, reduces air resistance and allows a vehicle moving over steep hills. The cruise control in such cars is simplified. The listed characteristics require deep understanding of new traffic safety aspects in view of vehicles with quantum engines. Design features of cars with quantum engines and differences between such cars and cars used nowadays are predicted.
