Abstract

A cursory read of 2 studies1,2 published in JAMA Ophthalmology might produce contradictory conclusions. However, these investigations are complimentary and make important observations that inform injury prevention efforts. “Changes in the Incidence of Eye Trauma Hospitalizations in the United States From 2001 Through 2014” by Iftikhar et al2 reported that hospitalizations associated with eye trauma increased by 18.3% during the study period.
