Abstract

Yellow oleander (Thevetia peruviana) is a tree that is common in Sri Lanka and that is used as a method of self-harm. Accidental poisonings have been reported in developing countries, but intentional poisonings are very uncommon in Europe. We report on a patient in the UK who used the internet to obtain information and purchase a poison from a tropical plant for suicidal use.
