Abstract

Dealing with representatives from pharmaceutical or nutritional companies is one of the more difficult ethical situations for a paediatrician in a developing country. They offer gifts, sponsor conferences and provide food and drug products samples as part of their marketing strategies. This form of marketing continues because it works. It may be ethically justifiable if the interactions between the paediatrician and company are in the best interest of children and their families. This article is protected by copyright.
