Abstract

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) comfort influences the brake feelings and safety significantly. Brake pedal vibration in anti-lock braking process reduces the comfort and safety. The key influence factors of brake pedal comfort are investigated in this paper. Brake pedal force changing rate and brake pedal velocity are regarded as the evaluation indexes. The analysis shows that the increasing step in applying phase and pump rate in dumping phase have a great effect on brake pedal comfort. Simulations and experiments show that small increasing step and pump rate contribute to improving the brake pedal comfort.
