Abstract

The purpose of this study is to verify the moderating effect of basic psychological needs satisfaction in the relationship between ambivalence over emotional expression and aggression of adolescent. For this purpose, 482 middle school and high school students in Seoul, Kyunggi, and Choongnam regions were measured for ambivalence over emotional expression, aggression and basic psychological needs satisfaction. The collected data was analyzed through a frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis using the spss 18.0 program. The results of the study were as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the correlations between the variables, there was a significant positive correlation between ambivalence over emotional expression and aggression. There was a significant negative correlation between ambivalence over emotional expression and autonomy of basic psychological needs satisfaction. Second, in the relationship between ambivalence over emotional expression and aggression, basic psychological needs satisfaction was found to show the moderating effect. Especially, in the case of aggressive group, it was found that not only the basic psychological needs satisfaction but also competence and relationship, which is a sub-domain of the basic psychological needs satisfaction, showed the moderating effect on the relationship between ambivalence over emotional expression and aggression. Based on the results of this study, it can be said that counseling, education and programs are needed to improve competence and relationship among adolescent in the situation where the ambivalence over emotional expression of adolescents can appear as aggression.

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 정서표현 양가성과 공격성의 관계에서 기본심리욕구 충족의
조절효과를 검증하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 서울, 경기, 충남 지역에 소재한 중·고등학생 482
명을 대상으로 정서표현 양가성, 공격성, 기본심리욕구 충족을 측정하였다. 수집된 자료는
spss 22.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, 상관분석, 위계적 다중회귀분석, 신
뢰도분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 각 변인의 상관관계를 분석한
결과, 정서표현 양가성과 공격성 간에는 유의한 정적 상관이 나타났으며, 정서표현 양가성
과 기본심리욕구 충족 그리고 기본심리욕구 만족과 공격성 간에는 유의한 부적 상관이 있
었다. 둘째, 정서표현 양가성과 공격성 간의 관계에서 기본심리욕구 충족은 조절효과를 나
타내는 것으로 확인되었다. 특히 공격성향 집단의 경우, 기본심리욕구 충족뿐만 아니라 기
본심리욕구 충족의 하위 영역인 유능감과 관계성은 정서표현 양가성과 공격성의 관계에서
조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 청소년의 정서표현 양가성이
공격성으로 나타날 수 있는 상황에서 청소년들을 대상으로 유능감과 관계성을 향상시킬 수
있는 상담, 교육 및 프로그램이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.
