Abstract

The dynamic response of a large building floor system, as induced by humans, has been experimentally evaluated. The human reaction to this response was related as an unsafe or unpleasant feeling. The subsequent dynamic analysis of the floor indicates that the natural frequency and induced frequency are of the same order, thus the reason for the resonance problem. The dynamic analysis, experimental study, static analysis and recommendations for eliminating the resonance problem is discussed.
