Abstract

Recently there are many accidents involving passengers in crowded railway stations. The momentum of safety enhancement in railway stations is increasing. The analysis of passenger flow plays an important part in improvement of railway station safety. This paper reports the current status of studies on passenger flow in crowded urban railway stations based on the experience of the author.
