Abstract

Harris responds to three commentaries that followed an article of his in the September 1981 Journal of Medical Ethics on "Ethical problems in the management of some severely handicapped children." He continues to defend the position that, even though current laws and attitudes may militate against implementing a policy of active euthanasia, active euthanasia is morally preferable to selective non-treatment.
