Abstract

This special issue of the International Journal of Mass Emergencies and Disasters resulted from a conference held at the University of North Texas in February 1991. The conference focused on issues related to integrating disaster research and practice. Both practitioners and researchers discuss the problem of delivering research to the practitioners. Thus, the resulting special issue is slightly different from most other issues of this journal.
