Abstract

Key Findings: 1) Excessive speed continues to be a causal factor in road trauma. 2) Country road users are three times more likely to be killed than city drivers. 3) Speed reduction on country roads in lieu of road treatment options is essential to reducing trauma. 4) The posted speed limit may not be suitable for the road and prevailing conditions.
