Abstract

In Jan 2016 the new Sustainable Development Goals came into force. The decision by negotiators from 190 countries to include an ambitious and accelerated road safety target, set for 2020, in the global goals demonstrates a recognition of the scale of this appalling human epidemic and the need for urgent action to reduce the road toll of death, injury, misery and economic waste.
