Abstract

This system is designed to predict upcoming road anomalies like bumps, potholes and sharp turns on roads using a three axis accelerometer in smartphones. The system aims to provide driver safety by providing such critical road data and it does so using an Android application which manipulates the sensor data. The system tries to minimize driver distraction by providing voice commands through the application and by using an intuitive user interface thus making the application user friendly in a true sense.
