Abstract

The suicide of an older person has a significant emotional impact on the nursing teams. Firstly, shock, incomprehension, confoundment, then a questioning of individual convictions and missions. Caregivers are poorly equipped and lack training with regard to this issue. Suicide can be analysed from the perspective of different factors and requires on the part of health institutions discussion and support for health professionals.
