Abstract

A report of the relationship of four factors, IQ, reading quotient, social quotient, and socio-economic status, in a program of educational placement affecting a school population of 900 children from the kindergarten through the eighth grade showed that "no grouping can give homogeneity in relation to all factors, and that whatever factor is used for placement, deviations in all other factors may occur and must be given due consideration." Almost certain success in placement results if measures of intelligence obtained from an individual examination, of reading ability, and of socio-economic status are considered.
