Abstract

Constructs that are typically associated with helping professional psychological injury include secondary traumatic stress disorder/compassion fatigue, critical incident stress, vicarious traumatization, and burnout. This paper provides clarification by identifying existing constructs and describing similarities and differences. Construct definitions, clinical features, and sources for symptomatology are provided.
