Abstract

The previous theory of vertical uplift capacity of foundations has been extended to foundations under oblique loads. The analysis is compared with the results of model and some field tests on rigid anchors and piles in sand and clay. The influence of load inclination on the uplift resistance can be represented by an interaction relationship between the vertical and horizontal components of the ultimate load.


La théorie antérieure de la résistance à l'arrachement verticale des fondations est étendue aux fondations sous des charges obliques. L'analyse est comparée avec les résultats d'essais sur modèles réduits et à l'échelle naturelle des ancrages rigides et des pieux dans le sable et l'argile. L'influence d'inclinaison des charges est représentée par une relation d'interaction entre la composante verticale et horizontale de la résistance limite.
