Abstract

The article focuses on human trafficking and organized crime (HUTOC) in South Africa. It mentions several factors that favored HUTOC including political instability, poverty and mass migration. It presents two major events to provide insight of HUTOC which are the Soccer World Cup in South Africa, 2010 and Vancouver Winter Olympic Games in Canada, 2010. It further includes a qualitative research conducted on sex workers in South Africa before, during and after Soccer World Cup 2010.
