Abstract

The article analyzes the policy problems and the recommendations regarding trafficking in human beings where there is a low level of consensus in the available literature. It is said that the factors which create, motivate and direct global flows of trafficking are similar to those directing global migration flows such as differences in the standard of living. According to the author, the most effective means of preventing trafficking is to support, and eliminate obstacles to a more equal global social and economic development.
