Abstract

The article focuses on the criminal justice response of the Australian government to human trafficking. It offers information on the Criminal Code Amendment (Slavery and Sexual Servitude) Act 1999. It details the findings of the report "Inquiry Into the Trafficking of Women for Sexual Servitude" released by the Parliamentary Joint Committee of the Australian Crime Commission in June 2004. It cites the problems associated with defining trafficking legislatively in domestic criminal law.
