Abstract

The article analyzes 15 criminal offenders convicted of human trafficking, slavery, and slavery-like practices in Australia between January 2004 and June 2012. International and Australian legislation related to human trafficking and slavery-related crimes is reviewed. Individual cases of offenders are discussed and compared.

CONCLUSIONS regarding the offenders' motives, their relationships with the victims, and their involvement in other illegal activities are included.
