Abstract

The article discusses various experiences of exploitation, and human trafficking among Indonesian migrant domestic workers. Topics discussed include growth in the economies of some Asian countries led to a strong demand for low-skilled labour in the form of migrant workers, migrants are vulnerable to labour exploitation and human rights abuses, and Indonesian Nirmala Bonat was physically abused by her employer, Yim Pek Ha.
