Abstract

The article presents a case study on various barriers that hinders the participation of human trafficking victims in criminal investigation and proceedings. Several reasons including lack of trust in criminal justice officials and fear of re-victimization are discussed that prevents the involvement of the trafficked persons' in criminal justice proceedings. It discusses various initiatives that can help in removing the barriers in criminal proceedings.
