Abstract |
Trafficking in human beings is a serious crime that is widespread and ever-increasing throughout the Europe and beyond. It includes many forms of exploitations. Sexual exploitation is the most well-known, however,labor exploitation is becoming one of the most widespread forms of human trafficking. Trafficking in human beings is involved in legal, social and economic aspects of modern society, moreover, it engages the victims and their families, traffickers, countries of origins, transit countries, and countries of destinations, law enforcement agencies and anti-trafficking NGOs altogether. Flows in human trafficking shows that it is not a problematic phenomena which is limited in a single country or a single region. Rather,it is a transnational and global problem to be solved. Thus, ongoing discussions and responses to trafficking in human beings should be conducted in global level. This study tries to explore the current trends in human trafficking which occurs in Europe and Central Asia regions, using the threat assessment report on transnational organized crime which was published by UNODC in 2011. Also, it describes counter-measures to trafficking in human beings in line with 3P paradigm- prevention, protection, and prosecution. Language: ko |
