Abstract

Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world. Healthcare professionals are uniquely positioned to discover individuals who are trafficked and intervene. This article describes the problem, discusses red flags to watch for, common ailments in victims, screening questions if trafficking is suspected, and proactive steps to take in your workplace to deal with human trafficking.
