Abstract

This paper reports on a survey of existing and proposed delinquency prevention programs in the public schools conducted in 1972-1973 by the Marquette University Center for Criminal Justice and Social Policy. Questions examined include: What delinquency prevention programs exist in the sample of school systems surveyed? What programs or efforts do school administrators or their representatives believe would be effective in dealing with delinquency in the schools? What are the implications for public policy? Answers to these questions were offered by 219 of the 440 superintendents, state school boards, and/or other school-system representatives queried. Public policy recommendations are suggested.
