Abstract

This article presents the results of three crash tests aimed at measuring side air bag effectiveness. In these tests, two 2015 Toyota Tacomas and a 2015 Hyundai Sonata were propelled sideways at approximately 20 mph into a fixed pole. The vehicles' speed, curb weight, test weight, impact angle and maximum crush depth are reported.
