Abstract

Chief Justice Earl Warren once said about reading newspapers, "I always turn to the sports section first. The sports section records people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures." Too often, however, the sports section also covers tragedies, some of which reflect man's failures. In this column, I cover three tragedies that we in the sports medicine community can work harder to prevent.
