Abstract

Until comparatively recent years, it was supposed that the preveniton of industrial accidents depended chiefly on the adequate guarding of machinery and other mechanical appliances used in production; but it is now realised that the majority of the accdents incurred in most branches of industry are not connected at all with machinery.
