Abstract

Psychodynamic model of the Faith-Underestimation space as a diagnostic method of crisis state dynamics and the development of the suicidal process within the personality. Aim of the study: to show the appropriateness in the development of the inner psychical reality of personality feelings in PSD, crisis state and the development of the suicide process within the Faith concept and within the space of Faith-Underestimation. Brief method'description: The Author's method was developed as the result of 17,5 years of work on a Suicide Helpline and during the administration of psychological help to the relatives of people who died in the air accident in the town of Kamensk, and to the victims and their relatives in Beslan in 2004. The idea of the method is to diagnose crisis state, PSD and concomitant suicide process according to the personality theory in the concept of the Ego-Faith-Underestimation space. The Faith concept does not carry a religious meaning for it is a universal spiritual part of the personality and the core of its psychological prosperity independently of religion and culture. At the end of the first session the persons who applied for psychological help were asked to fill in a e questionnaire and to mark the spot on the coordinates where they felt their place was: now, before the crisis or psycho-trauma, in the future and also to mark the place of the psychologist. They were asked to answer several questions: what resources were needed, the type of acceptable aid, the liabilities of both sides in the future work. The questionnaire was filled several times: on the first session, in the middle of therapy process and in the last session. A brief summary of results: As a result of examination we managed to show among victims and their relatives of Beslan tragedy the following: In 5 cases out of 20 people (women predominating) there were stable suicide thoughts and tendencies (3 women 35-50 y.o. had suicide attempts before the psychotherapeutic session, 5 women 35-45 y.o. held the idea to commit a suicide in near future). The diagnostic helped to correct the prevention actions of physicians and psychologists and to draw attention of the relatives to the feelings of suicides. 20 people were examined in psychotherapeutic departments of Rostov-on-Don with the use of this method and it helped to show that: in 5 cases out of 10 suicide attempters (women 19-38 y.o.) had the will to commit a suicide in the near future (violence victims, PSD etc.). In another ten, (2 men 35-40 y.o., 8 women 19-50 y.o.) a crisis state was diagnosed with the balance on the borderlines of Faith-Underestimation zones with the wish to cooperate and to move toward Faith. The treatment was combined: medicine and psychological (psychotherapy methods: catatative feeling of images, individual and group therapy). Brief conclusions: Diagnostics with the use of coordinates system of the Faith-Underestimation helped to predict the development of the suicide process and crisis states and to take timely preventive measures.
