Abstract

The state of Australia's transport infrastructure and the processes for improving it have been of concern to Engineers Australia and the National Committee for Transport (NCTR) for some time. This paper outlines principles that NCTR believes should be adopted. Given that Australia is unlikely to have the money to improve our national land transport infrastructure to the standard we would like, its deficiencies must be addressed in other ways.
