Abstract

Gunshot injuries to the spine and spinal cord were covered adequately in the literature shortly after World War II. Similar injuries in the civilian population have been reported in the literature with regard to surgical and nonsurgical treatment. However, the two cases reported here concern intraspinally retained foreign bodies (one bullet and one glass fragment), their effects on the neural elements, and their management.
