Abstract

This article describes new digital imaging technology which uses a video control system to record suspected tailgating by using clearly- defined road sector measurements which have already been entered into traffic control computers. The computers can then calculate distances between individual vehicles at certain speeds, allowing police officers to determine if an offense has been committed or not.
