Abstract

According to a new study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 98% of motorists feel something needs to be done about unsafe drivers: those who go too fast, tailgate, run red lights, or use turn lanes to veer around lines of standing traffic. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs remains the Number 1 killer on the roads. President Clinton proposes investing $6.8 billion over the next 6 years to increase safety on the nation's highways. In the meantime, police advise motorists not to react to an aggressive driver. Instead, relax, turn on the radio, and be a safe and courteous driver.
