Abstract

Fuel economy of automobiles constitutes one of the several factors affecting the overall performance depending particularly on the design of the automobile. Further, fuel economy being greatly influenced by driving methods and traffic flow conditions, can only be understood by studying the vehicle flow system. In this report, basic considerations relating to fuel economy, its relation to the city driving environment, influence of pollution politics and other related problems are discussed.
