Abstract

The author examined accidents which occurred between 1966 and 1970 on German roads with a new classification of types of accident. Not single factors but a combination of factors leading to accidents is described statistically. Special attention is given to background factors such as the influence of alcohol consumption on the driver's fitness. A number of tables illustrate the arguments presented.
