Abstract

The concentration of ethanol was determined in the blood, inner ear fluid and muscle distillate, taken from 37 bodies with advanced post-mortem decomposition. Correlation coefficient for blood and perilymph values was 0.772, for blood and muscle values was 0.727. The conversion factor F(P-B) reached value 1.32, whereas factor F(M-B) was 1.78. The analysis of perilymph and muscle appeared useful for interpretation of data obtained from blood analysis, and was particularly valuable in cases when blood sampling was impossible due to putrefactive decomposition.
