Abstract

In an experimental study individual distribution factors of 46 volunteers were determined by measurement of body water content and blood water content. These measurements were carried out using the body fat analysis device TBF-305 by the manufacturer Tanita. Test with intravenous ethanol uptake revealed a high accuracy of these distribution factors for the calculation of BAC and a good correlation with the 'pi' factor. This factor was calculated using body height and weight. The experiments showed that the true distribution factors of both sexes vary considerably. This would not have become apparent using inflexible values for r.
