Abstract

Morphological and biochemical investigations on the development of addictive behaviour are the focus of scientific interest of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Bonn. The issues, the methodological approach and the preliminary results of current studies are briefly reviewed. The interdisciplinary significance lies in the fact that the available specialist human research material can be used as a model for chronic exposure to addictive drugs in the human brain.
