Abstract

The sphallograph of O. Schmidt has proved to be an efficient instrument for demonstrating even slight alterations in body equilibrium which can be brought about by inhalation of organic solvents, fatigue, alcohol, intake of medicine, or combinations of these. Hitherto a drawback discouraging its widespread application was the time consuming evaluation of the graphs drawn by the recorder during the tests. Therefore an electronic registration was developed capable of making this evaluation immediately and showing the frequency and total strength of the oscillation of a person immediately after finishing the test.
