Abstract

The authors describe the operational mechanisms which a person initiates, be it intentionally or subconsciously, during the steering of a motorised vehicle. They then point to those factors which could influence these mechanisms, with emphasis on occupational-physiological concepts. In this context the influence of alcohol ingestion and the use of medicines is discussed.
