Abstract

The basis for the detection of DUID (Driving Under the Influence of Drugs) are raising suspicion and securing evidence. Suspicious factors result from the way of driving, accident course, or from the behavior of the subject at a checkpoint. If signs on recent drug consumption and signs of impairment could be observed, they allow to compound a mosaic of the conclusive suspicion, due to the experience of the police officer. This is completed by the documentation of the suspicious factors on the 'check list'. The basis for the classification of the offences as administrative or criminal in court are the 'check list', the protocol of blood sampling inclusive the medical report and the toxicological results regarding the substances detected in blood.
