Abstract

The relationship between the blood alcohol concentration and the clinical degree of influence of alcohol for the occupational group of brewery workers is compared to that of a material consisting of all other trafficants, both groups being suspected by the police of drunken driving. The results show that a daily intake of a considerable quantity of alcohol for longer periods of time does not lead to any acquired alcohol tolerance, the performance of the clinical examination being rather more deficient for the brewery workers than for all other persons investigated at the same blood alcohol concentrations.
