Abstract

The author defines the different types of the dark number, the general and the individual dark number, and compares the different kinds of dark numbers. In addition he discusses the determinants of the probability of arrest and their meaning with regard to the interpretation of empirical studies and especially the evaluation of the driver's post-schooling.
