Abstract

Determinations of water-ethanol-content in blood, tissue and body fluid of cadavers have shown, that in only eleven of eighteen cases, it was clearly possible to say whether the distribution was typical for an invasion or elimination phase. It was found that the water-alcohol content of a single substrate in relation to the blood alcohol content cannot give sufficient information about alcohol distribution. It is necessary to analyze substrates (tissues and body fluids) - being independent of each other but reacting similarly during ethanol distribution - in order to decide whether the deceased has died during the invasion or the elimination phase.
