Abstract

The alcohol distribution in blood, body fluids and vital organs was examined in 21 corpses. The alcohol concentration, determined from 3-4 parallel analyses with a reference of water = 100%, were made comparable by using the quotient between the water-alcohol concentration of substrate and those of blood. It was found that in may of the cases it was possible to decide whether the deceased had died during the invasion or the elimination phase. The decisions were based on the magnitude of the water-alcohol quotient of the stomach contents and on the distribution of the water-alcohol quotients of the other substrates.
