Abstract

On the basis of several large scale police controls in Zurich, it is estimated that every night at least 300 people are driving under the influence of alcohol in the city. The probability of being caught lies between 1 and 2%. Some possibilities towards achieving a more successful apprehension of these offenders and of decreasing their number are considered.
