Abstract

The present study is based on systematic observation of ten patients who reported having sensations of falling at more or less frequent intervals, either during an analysis session or in the course of their daily lives. This investigation is intended to shed light on the psychic causes of these phenomena, show the genetic conditions and inborn reaction mechanisms that lead to them, and, finally, list pointers as to how phenomena of this kind might be better understood and categorized when they appear in neurotic patients.
